1. How is DGP different from glucosamine and chondroitin?
DGP works much faster than glucosamine & chondroitin with regard to pain relief and improvement in mobility. Most people report noticeable results with DGP in just one week; glucosamine & chondroitin products can take up to 3 to 6 months.
DGP is a more complete formula – in fact DGP revitalizes dogs. Not only does it help with a pet’s mobility problems it also has ingredients that support the nervous system, gastrointestinal, skeletal and immune health. Glucosamine and chondroitin products do not!
2. Why is DGP more expensive than other joint formulas?
Glucosamine and chondroitin is no longer a “specialized” product and with the raw materials readily available it has become very cheap.
However , each of the ingredients in the DGPis specialized. Each DGP ingredient is human grade and is farmed specifically for DGP with an explicit purpose (i.e. anti-inflammatory, pain relief, gastrointestinal health, etc). And, DGP is produced in a TGA approved pharmaceutical grade manufacturing facility. (TGA – Theraputic Goods Association – is the Australian counterpart to the FDA.)

3. What is the DGP dosage?
Recommended daily dosage is one tablet for every 30 lbs of body weight. The chewable tablets should be spread out during the day (AM and PM). For pets 15 lbs and under the dosage is ½ a tablet a day.
4. How quickly will I see results with the DGP?
DGP is very fast acting . Most people report they see significant results in one to two weeks. This is much quicker than other nutritional supplements.
5. Do I need to keep my pet on the DGP indefinitely?
If your pet has a chronic mobility problem then the DGP should and can be used long-term. DGP is very safe and has been administered in long-term use with no adverse effects.
6. If I stop giving the DGP, how quickly do the effects wear off?
Typically, the symptoms return within 5 to 7 days once the DGP is discontinued.
7. How does DGP differ from the NSAIDs?
DGP is all natural and extremely safe with no reported averse side effects, either in clinical testing or in real world use in the thousands of dogs that take the DGP.
On the other hand, NSAIDs (ie. Rimadyl, Metacam, Deramaxx, etc) can have significant side effects ranging from gastrointestinal problems, vomiting, and diarrhea to kidney and/or liver damage.
8. Can I give DGP and NSAIDs at the same time?
We do not recommend giving your pet both. However, the NSAID should not be stopped abruptly especially if the dog has been taking it on a regular basis. We suggest the dog be weaned off the NSAID while properly dosing with the DGP. The “weaning” process involves reducing the dosage of the NSAID by ¼ every other day (while dosing with the DGP) and the pet should be completely off the NSAID in a week or less.
9. What is the "proprietary blend of native Australian herbs"?
Legally the actual herbs in the “blend” cannot be divulged (since it is proprietary) but be assured they are well researched and often used herbs that add to the overall health benefits of DGP. The “blend” works to help aid digestion, ease joint stiffness, stimulate the immune system and contain anitmicrobial and antifungal properties.
10. My pet is allergic to wheat, is wheatgrass the same?
Wheatgrass is not a problem for pets with allergies to wheat. Wheatgrass is harvested before the wheat allergen is formed.
Important notice:
If your dog is already on medication, discuss DGP with your vet before using. The enzymes it contains have the potential for altering the rate of absorption of medications, such as antibiotics, anticoagulants, and NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). Also, several of the ingredients have anti-inflammatory properties that could possibly enhance the blood thinning properties of anticoagulant drugs.
